About raramuridesign consulting

Working on websites. Thinking about the whole system.

Founded in 1999, raramuridesign consulting works with clients in South Africa and Europe on websites and the systems around them. Our experience spans design, development, content management, integrations, hosting and ongoing technical support.

Our experience

The work continues after launch.

A website has to fit the business that uses it. That includes the people updating content, the systems supplying information and the team responsible when something needs attention.

Our work has grown to include reporting, custom tools, booking connections and publishing workflows. Maintaining live systems gives us a practical view of what is involved in operating them over time.

That experience informs how we plan a new build, review an existing project and define the support it will need.

How we work

Understand the need. Make the responsibilities clear.

01

Understand the existing setup

We begin with the goal, the people involved and the systems already in place. We ask what is working, what is getting in the way and what a useful result would look like.

02

Agree a practical scope

We explain the proposed approach, deliverables and dependencies. Where the available information is incomplete, we identify what needs investigating before making a commitment.

03

Build and check against the brief

We work through the agreed requirements and review the result with you. Testing focuses on the intended use, including relevant connections and the information moving between systems.

04

Plan the handover and care

We agree who will use, maintain and support the work after delivery. Documentation, access and ongoing care are considered as part of the engagement.

People and experience

Technical work with an understanding of the business.

Matthew Philogene's work combines business ownership, project management, web development and server administration. That combination helps connect the business requirement to the details of implementation and ongoing support.

The technologies vary with the project. Our experience includes Joomla, WordPress, PHP, databases, hosting environments and connected services. We select tools around the brief and explain the implications of that choice.

Practical support

A working knowledge base.

Our knowledge base contains guidance on website management, hosting, email, domains and the platforms our clients use. It also provides routes for existing clients to request support.
